Sports Schools

Our Sports Schools have set themselves the goal to make a leap in the quality of their services this very school year. To this end, clubs specialised in sports management will collaborate in each of our disciplines. The clubs that collaborate directly with our Sports Schools are: the Club Deportivo Legamar in soccer, the CB Villa de Leganés in basketball, the Club Voleibol Leganés in volleyball and the Club Unihockey Leganés in floorball.

Soccer

Objectives:

The philosophy of the School is to work for the development of an integrative and educational social work with the help of sports. Seeking to improve the students’ abilities and not having competition as the main objective.

Students will be able to acquire the basic knowledge of soccer and will have the opportunity to put it into practice.

Basketball

Objectives:

To know the rules of the game and the characteristics of basketball:

  • Ball grip and handling.
  • Basic defensive position: defense of the player with or without the ball.
  • Changes of direction with the ball: in front, between the legs, behind the back, reverse…
  • All types of passes: chest, chopped, over the head, skip…
  • Learn to shoot well with good shooting mechanics.
  • Collective 5 vs. 5 play, different attack-defense situations

Volleyball

Objectives:

To know the rules of the game and the characteristics of volleyball:

  • Basic receiving position.
  • Ball handling and control.
  • Finger passes, forearm passes.
  • Slamming and blocking.
  • Bottom serve, top serve.
  • Collective play 6 vs. 6 attack-defense.

Kids’ Yoga

Objectives:

  • It is a discipline that promotes calm and emotional wellbeing through age-appropriate postures, breathing exercises and playful activities.
  • In these sessions, pupils will develop relaxation and self-control in a fun way, using music, stories and artistic expression as learning tools. All of this is aimed at fostering unity between body, mind and heart, as well as raising awareness.
Unihockey (Floorball)

Objectives:

Speed and Teamwork!

  • If you enjoy dynamic and exciting sports, Unihockey is for you.
    It’s a very safe and easy-to-learn form of indoor hockey.
    What are the benefits? It improves hand-eye coordination, agility and a sense of camaraderie.
  • Ideal for: Those looking for a fast-paced, strategic and adrenaline-fuelled team sport. Unity of body, mind and heart, as well as self-awareness.
Figure Skating

Objectives:

Magic on Wheels!

  • Glide, spin and dance. Figure skating combines athletic technique with physical and artistic expression.
    What are the benefits? Exceptional balance, postural control, flexibility and self-confidence.
  • Ideal for: Pupils who want to learn to move with fluidity and elegance, overcoming personal challenges with every spin.
    Dare to fly without lifting your feet off the ground!
Rhythmic gymnastics

Objectives:

  • To develop motor skills that facilitate the student’s acquisition of confidence in the movements he/she performs.
  • To stimulate mental capacity in students through activities such as observing, comparing and executing, improving their mental speed and motor memory.
  • Explore and value the possibilities of movement as a form of expression, communication and fun.
  • To know in a specific way the different parts of the body, with individualized work of each of them, (the correct way to perform stretching, as well as to enhance their strength).
  • To develop the specific physical qualities of this specialty: flexibility, muscle tone, coordination, balance.
  • Increase joint mobility.
  • Assimilate the correct postural positioning (insisting on plantar support, pelvis, back and shoulders).
  • To develop skills with apparatus: hoops, balls, ropes, clubs and ribbons.

Judo
Actividades Extraescolares - Judo

Objectives:

  • To develop motor skills that help the student to gain confidence in the movements he/she performs.
  • To develop physical qualities specific to this specialty: flexibility, muscle tone, coordination…
  • Basic notions of self-defense.
  • Technique and specific defense and attack movements.

Climbing

Objectives:

  • To improve muscle strength and endurance through specific climbing exercises that engage all the major muscle groups.
    To develop fine and gross motor skills, as well as balance, through precise and controlled movements on the climbing wall.
    To stimulate problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions whilst planning and executing the most efficient climbing route.
    To build self-confidence and a sense of personal achievement by setting and achieving individual climbing goals, overcoming fears and personal limitations.
